The first blog

Okay, the husband has been saying that I should try doing this for quite a while, so here it goes. This is my first blog entry. My thinking is that I will write about things that matter to me, to vent my spleen, or to just rant. The usual for the blogging world. I have been resistant to blogging for awhile, not wanting people to figure out what I was up to. But with buying a new laptop and the increasing stress of my job, it seemed like a good time. So here I am, GadamerGirl.

A bit about me. I am in my early 30′s, educated in political theory and now working in survey research at a large research university. I’ve now been seduced into the ‘dark side’ of survey methodology and am currently pursuing graduate work in that.

I married about a year and a half ago to my husband who I have known for about nine years. He’s the best thing in my life. It’s his birthday today — right now, he’s talking to his mom and celebrating the fact that he was born (or so I hope).

I grew up in a small town in Ohio, on a farm. I have the usual family members – Mom, Dad and Brother. They are the most important people in my life (after my Husband).

Enough of that for now.
