Some of you that know me know that I am a crazy Tar Heel fan. I didn’t go to UNC for undergraduate or graduate school, but when I moved down here, I started watching games and actually started to root for them during the disasterous 8-20 year. My favorite player in the last couple of years was Jackie Manuel. And of course, it was great following them last year when they won the national championship.
Husband and I always try to get tickets to a couple of games. The other night, we went to see the team play Cleveland State. I was a bit nervous — this is a young team and I wasn’t really sure what to expect. Four freshman played significant minutes and the team looked very sloopy at times, but it was a fun game to watch.
My favorite two moments? Watching Quentin Thomas dunk (hysterical) and Byron Sanders scoring the 100th point.
This year’s favorite player(s): It will take more than one player to take Jackie’s place. It will be split between Byron Sanders and Bobby Frasor.
Go Heels! It should be fun to watch…

So, a quick post to write what I am thankful for this year. No particular order, just what comes to mind.
My husband. What a wonderful year and 8 months we have had married and all the years before we were married. I love him so much.
My family. It’s great to have Mom, Dad and Brother here for Thanksgiving. I am so blessed to have always had them in my life, loving me (and laughing at me).
My friends – old and new. Especially my ‘posse’ at work. They help me not take life too seriously.
My work – I really love what I do, and I think I do it well.
This semester, I started taking classes for the first time in eight years. I am thankful for a good, informative class with good instructors. I feel like I’ve learned so much and I’m doing well as well.
My house. Husband and I bought it in May and we have had so much fun making it ours. Much more to do, but I love the ability to do it with him.
My health. In the past year, no pneumonia — and only 3 bouts of bronchitis. This is good! Hopefully, when I meet with my dr. in December, I will be able to get my asthma better under control.
Happy Thanksgiving, y’all. Enjoy it…
